Rachel Schwartz, Principal

Rachel Schwartz, founder of PR AdvantEDGE, Inc., is an accomplished public relations professional with significant experience in media, community, government and foreign relations. Representing high-profile clients and organizations in both the for and non-profit world for the last decade, Ms. Schwartz has a successful track record working with her clients to enable them to establish and build their brand, and influence and frame issues, both in the public and private sector, via media advocacy, community outreach and integrated marketing. Her clients have been placed in hundreds of media outlets and serve as sources for local, national and international print, broadcast and web-based news media and entertainment productions worldwide, including, but not limited to the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, Newsweek, NBC, CBS, ABC, BBC, Bloomberg, German Public Radio, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Seven Network Australia, The Jerusalem Post, NPR, PBS, CNN, Fox News Network to name a few.

Ms. Schwartz is a former Director of International Relations and Leadership/Board Development at the Los Angeles office of the American Jewish Committee, the nation?s oldest human relations organization. During her tenure at AJC, Ms. Schwartz raised the profile of the AJC with the vehicle of the International Relations endeavor at the local, national and international level by strengthening relationships and implementing innovative programming. Ms. Schwartz cultivated and managed new relationships, and expanded existing working associations, coalitions and collaborative efforts with key diplomats, consulates, media representatives, community and political leaders, and lay board members. She was also responsible for generating, marketing, publicizing and coordinating numerous high-profile meetings, seminars, programs and special events. The agency?s increased profile enabled domestic and overseas negotiated successes that advanced institutional goals and policy positions of the community at-large. She was a legislative and policy analyst at the California Newspaper Service Bureau (CNSB) where she successfully intercepted, tracked and assessed new legislation and its public and organizational fiscal impact for the company. While at CNSB, Ms. Schwartz researched and prepared both support and opposition arguments and drafted alternate language to fight numerous proposed bills for client organizations. Her legislative tracking department monitored and coordinated the progress of hundreds of bills annually while prioritizing high-impact legislation for appropriate action. Ms. Schwartz also took the unprecedented step of turning the legislative affairs department into an income-producing division by identifying and reporting on legislation with the potential to produce advertising and public outreach marketing revenue. This initiative produced several hundred thousand dollars in its implementation year.

Ms. Schwartz received her B.A. degree in Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley. She has also completed several certificate programs in the area of Government Relations, including Legislative Procedures; Advocacy & Committee Protocol; and Effective Strategies for State & Federal Lobbying. Ms. Schwartz has lived on three continents and is multi-lingual.
